Last week in Volume #39 issue #14, Indian Time mistakenly published an unapproved obituary. We, at Indian Time Newspaper, sincerely and profusely apologize to Mr. Pyke’s family and friends for this error.

AKWESASNE – Lawrence A. Pyke, 71, of Brown Road, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday morning, March 16, 2021 at UVHN – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.

Larry was an ironworker for many years. He also served his community as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance for over 21 years. He was communicant of St. Regis Catholic Church and a member of the Akwesasne Death Benefits Group. He had a great love for hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeler rides in the woods.

Larry is survived by his wife, Paulette “Polly” (Konkoski); his children, Kenneth King (Annie), Margaret “Maggie” Pyke and Mitchell Pyke (Jaid), all of Akwesasne; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and brothers and a sister.

At his request, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Due to floral allergies, flowers are gratefully declined. Those wishing to honor Larry, may consider memorial donations to the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance or the Massena Dialysis Center.
