It all started from reading a book about David Goggins, a retired Navy Seal and American ultramarathon runner, ultra-distance cyclist, triathlete, public speaker, and author. The book was about how he completed 4 miles every 4 hours for a 48-hour challenge to benefit a charity of choice by running.

Cayde Lazore read the book and felt inspired by Goggins and his mental capability to continue running even on 2 broken legs. Full of inspiration and the love to run, Cayde told one of his biggest supporters that he wanted to do the 4x4x48 challenge. He knew instantly that he wanted to benefit the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club because he attended the club since he was 6 years old.

Cayde is 15-year-old son of Cheyenne Lazore and his stepfather Troy "Duddy" Lyons, he also has a little sister Jemma. He trained by running every day even on the days below 0 and mentally prepared himself for the 4x4x48. He set his own goal by staying under 35 minutes for each run and he completed 50% of his running time under 35 minutes, his other times are not far from his 35 marks.

Cayde set out on March 5th to run for 48 hours only to sleep maybe an hour at a time, it was not all smooth running though. He wanted to run in Raquette Point (one of his favorite places to run) but the number of dogs that chased him forced him to change locations. He also had to battle through extreme cramping at 11pm night but was joined by his mother, grandfather, and grandmother who ran and walked beside him to help Cayde finish his 4 miles.

His running times are as followed:

Start March 5th

11pm - 31 mins

Cheyenne wrote on Facebook an official thank you to community members by writing "We also would like to thank all those who donated to the Boys and Girls Club on his behalf. Our online fundraising collected $3,531 and $150 in cash donations! It's so crazy we more than tripled our original goal of $1000!"

Jessica Cree-Jock stated, "The Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club members, staff and Board would like to express our appreciation again to Cayde and his family for raising money for the Club."

When you think that you are done, you're only 40% into what your body's capable of doing. That's just the limits that we put on ourselves." -David Goggins
