FIBRE TO THE HOME UPDATE – CONSTRUCTION BEGINS MONDAY, JAN. 4

 


A reminder that construction for Fibre to the Home will begin Monday, January 4th and will continue for 6-8 weeks in the district of Tsi Snaihne. The construction includes boring to place conduits underground with a backhoe digging entry points for the boring drill. The construction will occur Monday through Friday from approximately 7am until dusk.

What to expect:

Construction along the side of the road on every street of Tsi Snaihne.

The potential to have multiple bore drilling running simultaneously in different areas

There will be no nighttime work

Work to be conducted Monday through Friday from 7am until dusk

Potential traffic delays to ensure public safety of passage along the construction areas

In the event of inclement weather, work may be delayed

We want to remind the community to be mindful of potential hazards and to keep a safe distance from the construction areas. Please be respectful to the service providers (and their equipment) who are working on site during the Covid-19 Pandemic.


For the residents of Tsi Snaihne who want to pre-register their house/business to have access to fibre internet service, please email ftth@akwesasne.ca with your NAME, CIVIC ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER. All residents will be contacted for approval and authorization to get connectivity. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, alternative methods are being evaluated in lieu of in person registration.
