Allegiant Air Leaves Ogdensburg Airport – Cancels all flights
Allegiant Air has cancelled all of its flights out of Ogdensburg and says it’s leaving the airport entirely. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed the move to Channel 7 News. “Allegiant has made the difficult decision to cease operations at Ogdensburg.”
Allegiant said the extended border closure between the U.S. and Canada, as well as New York’s travel restrictions “have exacerbated the pandemic’s effect on demand in the area.”
Earlier in October, Allegiant began cancelling flights out of Ogdensburg. Channel 7 News says Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority hasn’t received the official word of Allegiant’s decision.
Allegiant Air began operating in Ogdensburg in 2017. The low-cost airline flew regularly between the North Country and Orlando St. Pete-Clearwater, FL.
According to News Channel 7, Allegiant Air is still offering flights out of Plattsburgh and Syracuse. The airline told Channel 7 passengers who had booked flights out of Ogdensburg can reschedule through either airport.
