Massena, Salmon River boys hockey players named to 2019-20 Times All-North Teams

 


The Watertown Daily Times has applauded Salmon River and Massena athletes as members of their 2019-20 Times All-North Teams.

Their First Team includes Salmon River forward Tim Cook Jr. He is a forward who scored 19 goals with 15 assists this past season.

“Tim was one of the best two-way players I’ve ever coached. This year he stood out offensively. He emerged as a tremendous leader. We were a young team and his improved goal-scoring ability helped us compete at the highest level,” Coach Tim Cook Sr. told the Times.

Also on the first team is Massena forward Nicholas Morrell. He came through with 16 goals and 19 assists this season.

“Nicholas is a dynamic two-way player that was relied upon in all situations. He is a great leader and he had an outstanding passion for Red Raider hockey,” Coach Mike Trimboli told the Times.

Second Team honors went to Massena forward Nicholas Linstad and defender Ryan Letham.


Salmon River’s Alex Oakes and Ryan Oakes, as well as Massena’s Patrick Barclay, were given honorable mentions.

Also on the First Team are OFA goalie Kelson Hooper (14-6, 1.49 GAA, .949 save percentage), Norwood-Norfolk forward Bobby Voss (18 goals, 18 assists), OFA defender Stephen Morley (eight goals, nine assists) and N-N defender Cade Van Buren (five goals, three assists).

Second Team awards also went to Potsdam goalie Cole Eakins, St. Lawrence forward Brendan Phippen, Potsdam forward Will Varney, and OFA defender Nolan O’Donnell.

Other honorable mention players included Noah Adams, St. Lawrence; Trentan Barnes, Islanders; Thomas Cafarella, Norwood-Norfolk; Peter Coakley, Canton; Aadam Fakir, Malone; David Jenner, Immaculate Heart; Trent King, Malone; Rhett Palmer, Canton; and Romano Sergi, Potsdam.


No athletes from Massena or Salmon River made the Times All-North Basketball Teams.
