Local Schools Compete in Cross Country Run
By Derrick Lafrance
Students of the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk and Tsi Snaihne Schools got a chance to compete against the best runners in the area.
Last Wednesday, October 16th under threatening skies, the students of grades four through eight tackled the hills and leaf covered course at Grays Creek in Lancaster for the Bob Nichols run. The run served as a qualifier for the Upper Canada Cup which takes place next week.
The cooler temperature at the start of the races made for ideal running conditions and the rain held off until the final grade eight course. The kids from Akwesasne gave it their all and represented their schools admirably.
