Akwesasne man charged with possessing $100,000 worth of cocaine on Amtrak train in Illinois

 


An Akwesasne man was arrested in Illinois after reportedly being found possessing $100,000 worth of cocaine on an Amtrak train.

Darien P.J. Sharrow, 19, was arrested in Galesburg, Ill. on Thursday, Oct. 3 on drug possession and trafficking charges for allegedly possessing about 1,078 grams of cocaine, according to the Peoria Journal Star.

The Illinois newspaper reported the arrest was made by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, as they generally handle busts on passenger trains.

His bail amount was not reported.

“In the past, bail amount has generally been set close to the street value of the drugs seized in train drug bust cases,” the newspaper reported.
