This is the second year the Father's Day Bash has taken place at the Tennis Courts on Kawehnoke. The event took place on Saturday, June 15th, with many community members coming out to eat and enjoy the company. There were plenty of activities to keep the children busy such as bird house painting, photo booths, activity tables and music, to name a few.

SRMT's Health Services Program raffled off two new car seats during the Father's Day Bash. (L To R) Krystal Peters, Kyle Point holding Damon Point.

The Father's Day Bash has grown into something bigger and better, with more organizations like Akwesasne Zero 2 Six, Akwesasne Mohawk Police, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police, SRMT Health Services, Akwesasne Child and Family Services and Wholistic Health and Wellness taking part in the event. Everyone who came out to the Father's Day Bash were entered in for numerous door prizes and given goodies as soon as they walked in. There was no shortage of entertainment and good food.

The event ended with the door prize drawings, with some lucky dads going home with new wooden lacrosse sticks, pack baskets and gift cards. The event ended a little earlier than scheduled, due to the high winds and rain that came in. Although the weather ended things early, everyone fortunate enough to make it out to the event had a great time, especially the dads.
