BOMBAY – With heavy hearts the family of Troy T. Benedict, 43, announces his unexpected passing on Friday, June 7, 2019, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Friends may call at the Kateri Hall starting Wednesday 10 a.m. until 12:30 Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Regis Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Pastores presiding.
Troy was born April 22, 1976 in Cornwall, the son of the late Roberta Benedict. He attended Salmon River School and obtained his GED in 2003. On October 16, 2004 Troy united into marriage with Leah Tarbell. Troy loved cruising around the area, fishing, hunting, watching lacrosse games and was an avid Ottawa Senators fan.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of his wife Leah, his children, Tori Benedict and her companion Zachary Valley of Bombay, Blaze Benedict and his companion Kirby Thompson of Kawehnoke, Alexander Thompson of Tsi Snaihne, Kyra Benedict of Bombay, Bow Benedict of Bombay, and a granddaughter Peyton Benedict survive him.
His sibling Joseph Benedict and his fiancé Jaime Garrow and her fiancé of Tsi Snaihne, Nathan Martin of Akwesasne, Adam Martin of Akwesasne, and Raeanne Benedict of Akwesasne survive him. He is also survived by his chosen siblings Tyler Curlyhead, Brett Curlyhead both of Tsi Snaihne, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also surviving Troy are chosen father Warren "Tiny" Curleyhead, his aunts and uncles, Kathryn Square of Kanatakon, Nancy White of Frogtown, Joan (Joe) Phillips of Tsi Snaihne and Lucy (Gordon) Benedict of Akwesasne, John Benedict of Kanatakon, and Joey Benedict of Kawehnoke.
Besides his mother he is predeceased by his chosen mother Janet Benedict-Curlyhead, his aunts and uncles Elizabeth Lazore, Frankie Benedict, Mike Benedict, Butch Benedict, and Annie Benedict all of Akwesasne.
