On Friday, June 7th some of Akwesasne's littlest superheroes came out to play. The St. Regis Recreation was host to the 3rd Annual Little Heroes Safety Camp and Obstacle Course. This year, programs and organizations such as the Akwesasne Mohawk Police, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police, MCA's Community Health, A/CDP and the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance, to name a few, helped to make the event a huge success.

The annual event is organized by the Iakwashatste Youth Fitness Program, with safety and fun as a top priority for the event. Mixing in physical fitness is what Iakwashatste is great at. With booths set up for activities, education and Q & A, parents and children were able to learn safety tips, and the little heroes got a new fishing pole to bring home.

The main event, the Obstacle Course, was definitely different this year. Several different age categories raced amongst each other going from youngest to oldest. All the little heroes were able to finish the Obstacle Course with a big smile on their face.
