Massena, Salmon River hockey players receive All-NAC honors

Massena and Salmon River hockey players were recently recognized with All-Northern Athletic Conference honors.

Girls hockey players recognized on the All-NAC First Team include Salmon River’s Carli Cartier and Madison Collette, along with Massena’s Meg Wilmshurst. Also named to the team were co-MVPs Erica Sloan (Potsdam) and Paige Glasgow (Canton), and Alex Quinn (Potsdam).

Players recognized on the All-NAC Second Team include Salmon River’s Rylee Garrow and Taylor Swamp, as well as Massena’s Hannah Chilton. Also named to the team were Alana McDonald and Kennedy Emerson (Potsdam), and Sydnee Francis (Canton).

Outstanding Sportsmanship Team honors went to Salmon River’s Olivia Moulton and Massena’s Kylie Letham, as well as Potsdam’s Coryn Young and Canton’s Cate DeCoteau.

Athletes of Distinction included Madison Collette, Delaney Morneau and Jasmine Pyke from Salmon River and Jessica Amo from Massena. Others receiving the honor were Katie Premo (Canton), and Hayley Gray, Alana McDonald, Erica Sloan and Hannah Zenger (Potsdam).


Coach of the Year is Massena Head Coach Greg Paquin.

In boys hockey honors, Massena’s Chris Paige and Casey Hooper were named to Division I All-NAC First Team. They share the honor with Jack Finnerty, John Mahoney and Rhett Palmer from Canton, and Cole Eakins from Potsdam.

Division II All-NAC First Team includes Salmon River’s Cameron Cartier and Tim Cook, along with Jackson Troiano of Ogdensburg, Bodie Molnar and Robert Voss from Norwood-Norfolk and Jah Robertson from St. Lawrence Central.


Division I Second Team includes Mickey Kuhn from Massena, as well as Canton’s Easton Butterfield and Potsdam’s Romano Sergi.

Division II Second Team includes Salmon River’s Kaden Conners, along with Thomas Cafarella and Cody Fobare from Norwood-Norfolk, Matt Delisle from Malone, Stephen Morley from Ogdensburg and Mason Aubertine from Alexandra Bay.

The Division I Outstanding Sportsmanship Team honors went to Cameron Frost from Massena, Trey Bessette from Canton and Danner Dorothy from Potsdam.

The Division II Outstanding Sportsmanship Team is Carter Benedict from Salmon River, Nate Lashomb from Alex Bay, John Sullivan from St. Lawrence Central, Callahan Rogers from Malone, Blake Richards from Norwood-Norfolk and Julian Rufa from Ogdensburg.


Division I Athletes of Distinction include Massena’s Cameron Frost, Canton’s John Mahoney and Potsdam’s Dustin Grant.

Division II Athletes of Distinction include Salmon River’s Cameron Cartier and Talon Thompson, Alex Bay’s Mason Gorman, Norwood-Norfolk’s Blake Richards, Ogdensburg’s Alexander Barrett, Julian Rufa, Jackson Troiano and Jake VanHouse and Malone’s Jacob Reville.

In Division I, the Wayne Houmiel Team Sportsmanship Award went to Massena.

In Division II, the Vern Burrows Sportsmanship Award recipient is John Jacobs from Salmon River.

In Division I, the WMSA Goaltender Award went to Casey Hooper, Massena. The Coaching Staff of the Year award went to Anthony Levato, Rob Liggio and Jacob Newman, Canton. The Chuck Dievendorf Lifetime Achievement Award went to Randy Brown, Canton. The NCSN Scoring Leader is Jack Finnerty, Canton. And the Coaching Staff of the Year award went to Canton.


In Division II, the Coaching Staff of the Year went to Norwood-Norfolk, Doug LaVigne and Rick Short. The Mel Tomalty Team Sportsmanship Award went to Ogdensburg. The NIHOA Lifetime Honorary Membership Award went to Jeff James. The WMSA Goaltender Award went to Kelson Hooper, Ogdensburg. And the NCSN Scoring Leader is Jackson Troiano, Ogdensburg.
