Old IGA Building – With the seasons soon to change and the sun melting the winter snow away, the Annual Children's Powwow begins with everyone gathering at the old IGA Building filled to the brim with vendors, food, raffles and fundraisers. Registration went from 10:00am to 12noon for all children dancers from fancy dancers to jingle dancers to hoop dancers and more. Many have practiced for weeks for this moment to show their moves to hundreds of proud parents, family members and friends.

There were many vendors; diverse in what they sold and what they made. Food vendors this year ranged from businesses like Koi Express, Magic Mike's Pizzeria, Diva-Lissa's Popcorn Shop and more. NNATC sold corn soup and fry bread along with many other groups selling foods for attendants and dancers alike.

This year had exhibition performances were by The Land Kicknosway, a well-known grass and hoop dancer and Hoop Dance Hotinonshonn:ni Cultural Youth Group. One of the highlights was from Kicknosway Hoop dance that involved glowing hoops for an elaborate dance that left everyone amazed.

The Children's Powwow is a highlight in the tail end of Winter, especially a long and cold winter like the one we had. There is a hope that next year will be bigger and better than ever.
