"DON'T THROW THAT AWAY! We can find a use for that!" The infamous words by Hilda Mae Lazore "Hilda Baby" who entered the eternal world on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Her spirit and life lessons will be carried on by her 3 children, Matthew "Sandy" Lazore (Alabama), Jeffrey Lazore (St. Regis) and Alice Lazore (New "Joisey").

Born on May 5, 1930 on the family island, Ronde Island, to Jake "Sunshine" Lazore and Bessie Hubert Lazore. She was the 2nd oldest of her 7 siblings. Predeceased by Betty Lazore Arquette (Mitch) - Akwesasne, Roma Lazore Radeschi - Arkansas, Ralph Lazore - Utica, and Gary Lazore - Florida. She is survived by John Jack "Chubb" Lazore - Utica and Joan Lazore - Arizona.

A survivor of Spanish (Residential) School, she always saw the love in life regardless of the hardships that she endured. School taught her hard work, education and her passion of becoming a seamstress. Long time income at the sewing factory in Malone transpired into creating long house ribbon shirts and evolved further to designer clothing when she retired for a bit in Florida with her son, Matthew.

Married to Alec Lazore (St. Regis) she became a widow when his life was taken by the St. Lawrence River in a tragic boating accident. She raised Matthew Lazore (Judy-divorced; Donna) who gave her grandson Scott Lazore (Allison). Later in life, partner Basil Arquette died as well, leaving her to raise Jeff Lazore (Veronica Thompson) (Grandchildren: Stacey Odorowski, Jon Mike Lazore, Keegan Thomas, Sasta & Kiannah Thomas), and daughter Alice Lazore (John Elkowitz) who gave her grandchildren Mitch and Anabeth. Blessed with 4 great grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews, she was the Lazore matriarch.

If you knew her, you'll smile at the times she free willingly gave you advice (her opinion) or made you pick up sticks/move rocks/weed the garden because it developed your character. She recycled/reused before it was kool – from ziploc bags, bread bags (to keep your feet warm in winter) to clothing (panty hose being used for the tomato plants).

She worked at Bear's Den Restaurant before retiring and then traveled with her daughter Alice throughout US and Canada. Her favorite place of all was the family island(s), the St. Lawrence River, boating, fishing, and Canadian sunsets from the dock. Her ashes will be spread this summer during a family ceremony surrounded by family, friends and a few cold ones as we say cheers to her life!

She always believed it was never Good-Bye. Good-Byes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because, for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation, rather, "We Will Meet Again Soon"...

Friends may visit her at Homemakers Friday 2pm until Saturday 10am. A mass will be held Saturday 11 am at St. Regis Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Pastores.
