Akwesasne man among those arrested for aggravated assault

 


(January 9, 2019) Jordan Thompson, Akwesasne, was among eight people arrested in Cornwall, ON, on January 7, 2019, all in relation to aggravated assault. The altercation reportedly happened at a residence on Guy Street on Monday.

Cornwall Police alleged the suspects prevented a man from leaving the residence on Guy Street, confined the victim by using duct tape and assaulted him with various weapons. The victim was treated for his non-life threatening injuries at Cornwall Community Hospital. According to reports - police officers believe this was an isolated incident.

Jordan Thompson, 24, Akwesasne, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a weapon, extortion, overcome resistance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of morphine.

Kaitlyn Gougoula, 19, Cornwall, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a weapon, overcome resistance and two counts of breach of probation.

Ryan Royer, 25, Cornwall, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a weapon and five counts of breach of probation.

Jessica Lemieux, 29, Cornwall, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, conspiracy to commit murder and assault with a weapon.

Toshina Hill, 30, Cornwall, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of probation.

Bobbie Sylvester, 37, of Embrun, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a weapon, possession of methamphetamine and six counts of breach of recognizance. Police noted Sylvester also had several warrants issued for his arrest for failing to appear in court and other drug-related charges.

Daniel Roach, 39, Cornwall, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a weapon, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of breach of probation.

Michael Pare, 49, Cornwall, was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, two counts of breach of probation and fail to appear for prints.

All eight were held in police custody in Cornwall, pending bail hearings.
