Salmon River Central School District Raises Money for Make-a-Wish of Northern New York

(December 27, 2018) Students, staff, and community members have raised money for Make-A-Wish through Macy’s “Believe Campaign.” Macy’s Department store pledged to donate $1 to Make-a-Wish Foundation of Northern New York, for every letter submitted, up to one million dollars. This was a record year for the District with a final total of 7,858 letters submitted, earning $7,858 for Make-a-Wish. Various student groups conducted fundraisers to donate an additional $578.

“This has been a record year for the Believe Campaign, and we are grateful to the community for participating in this important initiative,” said Elementary School Teacher Nichole Howard.

The Believe Campaign is close to the hearts of many at Salmon River School District, because in recent years students in the District have personally benefitted from the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

“We have seen firsthand the impact that donations like these have on a child’s life,” said Howard.
