(December 13, 2018) The First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA) offers professional certification in health management leadership and quality practices. In the fall of 2018, 14 health managers and supervisors took their final course, with 13 of them writing the professional certification exam. Congratulations to the those who received their certification and professional designation of Certified First Nations Health Manager (CFNHM)!

They are 175 Certified First Nations Health Managers across Canada including the 13 from Akwesasne. Akwesasne was the first community to take the coursework and have the managers and supervisors become certified.

Community Health Program Manager Lesley Bero and Non-Insured Health Benefits Supervisor Leah Mitchell received their certificates this week, as they were unable to attend the FNHMA National Conference that was held in Banff in early November. Congratulations to Lesley and Leah, as well as to the other Akwesasronon who completed the program - you all make our community very proud with your hard work and dedication!
