Bid for Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education School Bus Fleet maintenance

 


This package includes a copy of our Bus Maintenance Policy (Policy #819) and a list of our School Buses which are in service and will be requiring maintenance and repairs. The AMBE fleet services the AMBE school district which is situated in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec with the school busses traveling through the United States, busses may need service in any one of these jurisdictions. AMBE will require that all bids include the following items:

Contractors must:

1. Flat rate fee per bus for servicing of a School bus according to the Bus Maintenance Policy and schedule established by AMBE Transportation Supervisor.

2. Shop rates for all services to be provided by contractor and be prepared to maintain the fleet to the necessary D250 standard. Contractor should list all rates if rates vary for specific services. Contractor should list all its services and any services that need to be subcontracted out, i.e. Safeties, brakes, electrical.

3. Emergency or After Hours rate for services.

4. Contractor must list hours and location of availability.

5. Contractor must provide proof of adequate insurance.

6. Contractor must provide a list and copy of any certifications of its employees that will work on the AMBE fleet.

7. Contractor must provide its method of billing and payment.

8. Contractor must provide the location of their shop and their availability of space for AMBE School Buses. Also provide a plan to service the AMBE Fleet in case of breakdown of buses within the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory.

9. Contractor must provide its number of years in service, safety record, and what regulations does the shop follow and which agencies regulate shop safety.

10. Contractor must to the best of their abilities estimate what its projected cost will be to service the AMBE fleet for one calendar year which will include maintenance in accordance with Policy #819, general wear and tear, breakages, two annual safety inspections, and the annual brake inspections. Contractor will not be held to this amount, it will be used as a comparison to data we have collected against other fleets.

The Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education will award the Maintenance contract to Service provider(s) for the duration of up to 3 years commencing no earlier than April 1, 2019 and terminating on a negotiated date. All sealed tendering packages must be submitted by January 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education, located at 169 International Road, Akwesasne Ontario K6H 5R7 behind the Peace Tree Mall, to Dwayne Thomas Transportation Supervisor. Tenders must be sealed and clearly marked “Maintenance Tenders.” No late tenders will be accepted. Tenders will be opened and read on January 23, 2019 at the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education board room at 10:00 a.m. The winning tender will be notified no later than 10 days from the opening of the sealed bids.
