Submitted by Molli Smith, Instructor

Iohahi:io Adult Education is currently in the second year of the 2-year diploma Energy System Engineering Technician (ESET) Program in partnership with St. Lawrence College, Kingston Campus, and with the support of Akwesasne Area Management Board. Graduates from this program will work in the renewable energy industry, one of the fastest growing industries in North America and worldwide. Some of the exciting careers that await our upcoming graduates include: Clean Energy Project Managers, Renewable Energy System Designers, Solar Panel Installers, Energy Consultants and Auditors, Energy Management Services and Green Building Designers.

Our students receive hands-on experience installing off-grid and grid-tied photovoltaic systems, energy system modeling and design software experience, technical writing skills and much more. Students are currently working on their final projects for this semester, which involves completing an advanced technical report detailing a complete design and financial evaluation of a grid-tied or off-grid solar system.
