A cloudy threatening sky did not keep friends and family off the river to pay tribute to a man who had a passion for fishing. The 16th annual event brought 21 avid fishermen who came off the river cold and hungry, but with many stories to tell - true or not.

Frank Delormier, 1952 - 2017, loved to fish and was always seen on the river or along the shoreline with his pals, cleaning the day's catch or sitting by the fire. He also organized snowmobile races on the river, was a member of the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department, and worked for the St. Lawrence Seaway, and also as an Ironworker with Local 440.

The entire Delormier family held their annual tournament for years and after Frank passed away in 2017 the fishing tournament was taken over by his son Nathan; and fittingly, the name was changed to the Frank Delormier tournament.
