MASSENA – Mrs. Eileen M. Newman, 89, passed away Thursday evening at the Highland Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since 2015.

Eileen was born March 31, 1929 in Norfolk, the daughter of the late Charlotte Thompson. She was raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Thompson of Kawehnoke. She was a 1945 graduate of Norwood High School. On January 7, 1974, she married James W. Newman in Ogdensburg with Mayor Burris officiating. He predeceased her on October 6, 1982.

She is survived by many cousins.
