Akwesasne Coed Softball Has Another Successful Season

Another season of local softball league action came to an end last weekend.
When the day was over "I'd Tap That" won the championship over Pitch Slap in two games; 7-5 and 14-6 in games one and two respectively. "I'd Tap That" were also the regular season champions while Pitch Slap came in second.
Dacobras were third place in the regular season.
Wraven Sunday and Kiio Jacobs were announced Tournament Most Valuable Players for the champions while Kassenniio Beauvais and Zack Williams took home MVP honors for Pitch Slap.
In Division "B" the BallBusters edged out the Bad News Bears with Sierra White winning MVP for the Busters and Sahte Fox and Lakota Lazore winning the MVP award for the Bad News Bears.
Throughout the season the team Most Valuable Player award winners were:
Bad News Bears - Tonkwa Tarbell and Nina Rourke
Pitch Slap - Zachary Williams and Amber Thomas
Multiple Scores - Joe Clute and Mia Schultz
(Also winners of the Team League Sportsmanship Award)
BallBusters - Nolan Thomas and Hannah Lafrance
The Warriors - Hawis Sharrow and Brenden MacDonald
Brew Crew - Ty Montour and Ashton Francis
District V - Teio Skidders and Trysten Thomas
DaCobras - Stan Cook and Tatiyanna Papineau
War Party - Marcus Gray and Mary Gray
Saints - Arlene Thomas and Mondew Sunday
St. Boys - Mark Gibson and Leighann McDonald
I'd Tap That - Nate Smoke and Breanne Herne
There was also a Diamond Award for Most Runs recorded throughout the 2018 season.
Male:
1st Phil Lazore - 30 runs
2nd Nate Sunday – 24 runs
3rd Kiio Jacobs tied with Ahta Lazore – 20 run
Female:
1st Wraven Sunday - 16 runs
2nd Diane Lazore tied with Bailey White - 15 runs
3rd Brooklyn Benedict - 13 runs
Another award was for Regular season Home Runs swatted in.
Male:
1st Phil Lazore - 14 HRs
2nd Thomas Benedict - 13 HRs
3rd Prey Lazore - 10 HRs
Female:
Calandra Thompson and Leighann McDonald with two each.
Despite the heat during the summer of 2018 season it was another successful season and there is still more softball to be played.
September 15 and 16 is the Cheyenne Smoke Memorial tournament and the following week is the always popular Snye Bums tournament.
