Although this event was called "Seniorama", you don't have to be a senior to come out and enjoy it – the Annual Seniorama Event took place at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort on Monday, August 13th. The event consisted of various businesses and organizations showcasing their programs and tools they have to offer. Anyone eighteen and over could check out the different services available throughout the North Country.

Sarah Jane Blake from New York Statewide Senior Action Council informing senior citizens about the new Senior Medicare Program.

The event was organized by North Country Chapter New York Statewide Senior Action Council. Barb McBurnie, President of the North Country Chapter stated, "This event is open to the public. We choose to hold the event here, because of the large space and because senior citizens love coming to the Casino. Just having it here is a big draw, the venue attracts people. Last year there were over 400 People, and this year we have had a great turnout, with more people. The Seniorama event is a good way to give vendors access to senior citizens, and seniors can get information."

The Seniorama was held on Monday for a reason – it coincides with the AMCR Senior Discounts, enjoying half price discounts in a variety of venues. This year there was plenty for everyone to learn and enjoy. Although the Seniorama is aimed at senior citizens, just about every person in Akwesasne could benefit from checking out the event. Who doesn't have a senior in their life? We all have a family member, Tota, parent, neighbor or friend who is getting better with age. When the next annual Seniorama rolls around, go and check it out.
