The eighth annual event in honor of Tina Thompson was held at the American Legion last weekend and a huge crowd braved the hot weekend to cheer on their favorite local ballplayers.

When it was over The Gramblers, captained by Char Lafrance, won the tournament.

They defeated the Saints in the final which went as far as it could before it got too dark.

There was lots of laughter on and off the diamond with draws held and it was a very successful eighth annual event which paid tribute to a remarkable woman and the legacy she left behind.

The aim of the Tina's Pride movement is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and in addition to the annual softball fundraiser they hold walkathons, and last year held a benefit concert. The group made a donation from the 2018 tournament to an Akwesasne community member who is battling cancer, and everyone involved is to be congratulated for their work.
