Indian Time - A Voice from the Eastern Door

Letter to the Editor

A good majority of the members of the SRC school district community have voiced their concerns and shared their ideas for a school board with me during my time spent canvassing our district. Many community members expressed that it was time to steer the board into a new direction, that new voices needed to be heard, and that a new energy is needed to assure the many - and not a few - district shareholders are represented. I enthusiastically agree! I believe that students are the Number 1 priority in our School District and I want to make our school the best in the North Country. I support investment in classrooms of tomorrow to make sure our students and faculty have the best forms of technology available to them in a fast-paced changing environment - an important part of the budget passed last month.

Given an opportunity to be a Board Member, I will give it my all to improve the work climate and provide fiscally responsible and accountable leadership. I will bring reliability and honesty to the boardroom and will bring civility and greater respect to the position I will hold.

My record of community volunteering, my youth and my energy, combined with my commitment to transparency and trustworthiness are all factors that you should consider when casting your ballot. My campaign investment of time and talent have allowed me to completely understand that our students and faculty are part of something truly special - a school district community that is beyond superb.

I am tremendously gratified that the communities in our school district have been pleased with my campaign to the point of being willing to entrust me with the difficult responsibilities of serving on the Board and representing our school families across the district. If elected, I know that this can and will be a difficult struggle alone as a new Board Member - and I look forward to the chance to team up with Scott Premo and Shawn McMahon, the newly elected board members. With your support, I pledge to kick my service into overdrive for the benefit of our children, their teachers, and our family of communities.

I ask you to support my campaign on June 26, 2018. Poll booths open at 12:00PM on Tuesday and will be open until 8:00PM in the board room at the SRCS main campus building.
