Young students were rewarded for their hard work in the past school year by getting outside and having fun. Earlier this week students at the Kanatakon, Tsi Snaihne and Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Schools held Playdays.

On Tuesday all three schools' Pre-K and Kindergarten classes caught a break from Mother Nature as they were scheduled to meet at the Kanatakon School for all three programs. The day before was a heavy downpour with power outages, but the following day was sunny and clear for the festivities. The older classes of the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education schools all went to the different districts for their events.

There were stations set up around the Kanatakon School yard like dancing, parachute game, story telling, table games, lego blocks, balloon games and painting, among others.

Last Friday, June 15 the AMS Early Years program set up bounce houses and also had arts & crafts and other games for their Playday. The weather was also perfect for that event, which was enjoyed by all the students.
