Salmon River Central School Announces 2018 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Salmon River Central School is proud to announce that Colonie M. Gray has been named Valedictorian and Jared J. Bigness has been named Salutatorian of the class of 2018.

Colonie is the daughter of Patrick and Brandy Gray of Akwesasne. She will be earning an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery Designation in Math and Science. Her cumulative high school grade point average is a 96.87. Colonie is a leader within the school community serving as the President of her class and the President of National Honor Society. She is also a talented musician who has played flute in the Band and is an active member of our Drama Club. Her roles have included General Cartwright in Guys and Dolls Jr. and she most recently thrilled audiences with her portrayal of Scar in The Lion King Jr. She has been a member of the Cross Country team where she earned Academic All Northern and Sportsmanship honors, and is also a member of Sources of Strength. Colonie will be attending Hamilton College in the fall majoring in Psychology.

Jared is the son of Clay and Sheri Bigness of Fort Covington. He will be earning an Advanced Regents Diploma with Mastery in Math and Science. His cumulative high school grade point average is 93.42. Jared is a talented three sport athlete participating in Soccer, Basketball, and Track and Field. He has received Academic All Northern honors and was Captain of the Basketball Team. Jared participates in Sources of Strength, National Honor Society, and volunteers at parish dinners at St. Mary's Church. He will be attending SUNY Canton in the fall.
