Akwesasne – Terry Francis Johnson "Lumox," 52, of Akwesasne passed away Tuesday night, May 8th, 2018, at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute with his loving family by his side.

Lumox was born on September 14, 1965 in Cornwall, Ontario, son of the late Frank Johnson and Irene Sawatis Johnson. He attended schools in Kanatakon and Cornwall. He married Charlene Jackson on June 2, 2001 at the St. Regis Catholic Church with Father George Belgarde officiating.

Lumox was a member of the 711 Ironworkers Union out of Montreal. He worked in NY, NJ, Vermont, and Connecticut. He was also employed by Lazore's Construction, Truck Stop #9 fuels, CD trucking, and the Ganienkeh Territory as a security guard. He enjoyed coaching the Akwesasne Minor Storm Lacrosse team for 8 years with his coaching partner Greg Phillips, and accomplished winning an Ontario Provincial Championship in 2011. He had a passion when it came to his sons, especially watching them play hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, and softball.

Lumox played softball for Skidders' Construction and was a member of R&R softball team. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Denver Broncos Fan. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, joking around and had a nickname for everyone. He was known to have a laugh like no other.

He is survived by his wife Charlene, his 3 sons, Kobi, Keaton, and Khyler Johnson and his beloved dogs Hank, Walker, and Ranger, all of Akwesasne; his mother, Irene Johnson, 1 brother Bruce (Lizzy) Johnson, 5 sisters, Karen (Pat) Point, Audrey (Frank) Diabo of Kahnawake, Shirley Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Pam (Bill) Johnson of Akwesasne, and his twin sister Sherry (Lenny) Johnson Oakes of Ganienkeh; many nieces and nephews, 2 of which he was incredible close to, Ledger and Aurie, and his god children Brittany, Marcus, Tommy Hawk, Wayne, Alex, and Gracie.

Lumox was predeceased by his father-in-law John Jackson in March of 2010, and his father Frank Johnson in November of 1982.

Friends called at Akwesasne Homemakers from Sunday until Tuesday, when a Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Regis Catholic Church, with Rev. Jerome Pastores celebrating. Burial to follow at the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
