Akwesasne - Unexpectedly on Friday morning, May 4, 2018, one more Leaf has fallen from our family tree into the Spirit World. Frank Kahentiio "Mout" Leaf, 54, of 358 Island Road, passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital.

Mout was born August 5, 1963 in Cornwall, Ontario, son of the late Frank and Agnes (Jocko) Leaf. He attended schools on Kawehnoke. Mout was a carpenter that had a passion for fixing bikes and doing yard work.

Mout is survived by his 3 children, Frank Leaf, Jr. of Cornwall; Darryl Benedict Leaf of Finch, Ontario; and Brittany Oakes of Kawehnoke; 2 grandchildren Jayla and Skyler; 6 sisters, Margaret (Robert) Thompson, Pauline (Frank) Thompson, Marilyn (Thomas) Francis, Sheila (Jennifer) Leaf, all of Kawehnoke; Pearl Leaf and Catherine Joyce (Jeff) Lauzon, all of Akwesasne. He is also survived by 2 brothers Patrick "Bucky" (Cecelia) Leaf and Brian Leaf (Missy Thompson) all from Kawehnoke; and a chosen brother, William Thompson of Kawehnoke; a brother-in-law Peter Back, Sr. of Akwesasne; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons, Tyler L. Benedict Leaf, and Timmy Benedict Leaf; 2 sisters, Josephine Back, and Mary (Wilfred) Bova; four brothers, Francis, Franklin, George "Porky" (Minnie), and Kenny Leaf.

Friends called at his home from Saturday until the time of the service on Monday, May 7th.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department or the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Service.
