Lessons from Flint Water Crisis Topic of Lecture at Clarkson University

The Flint Water Crisis will be the topic of a pre-commencement lecture by Clarkson University honorary degree candidate Marc A. Edwards on May 11.

“Truth-Seeking in an Age of Tribalism: Lessons from the Flint Water Crisis and its Aftermath” will be delivered by Edwards at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 11, in Bertrand H. Snell Hall Room 213. A short reception will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public.

Edwards, who teaches courses in environmental engineering, applied aquatic chemistry and engineering ethics, was named among Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2016.

Work by Edwards’ research group laid the groundwork for investigative science uncovering the 2014-2016 Flint Water Disaster and the 2001-2004 D.C. Lead Crisis.
