Salmon River Central School District Budget Vote and Board of Education Election to be Held at St. Regis Mohawk Elementary School on May 15, 2018

Fort Covington, NY — On May 15, 2018 from 12:00PM to 8:00PM at the St. Regis Mohawk Elementary School in Hogansburg, NY, polls will be open for qualified voters in the Salmon River School District to decide on the annual school budget and Board of Education candidates.

This year, voting will take place at the St. Regis Mohawk Elementary School rather than the SRCS main campus to provide equal opportunity to all district residents.

For the 2018-19 school year, the District proposes a zero percent increase in the tax levy. The total proposed budget for 2018-2019 is $32,502,021. In addition to approving the annual budget, voters will decide on the purchase of four new buses and select the new Board of Education members to fill two open seats.

Agnes (Sweets) Jacobs, Scott Premo, and Curtis H. White are running for a five-year term to replace the last-elected incumbent Michael Sisto.

Peter J. Burns and Shawn McMahon are also running for a five-year term last held by Peter J. Burns.

“We are pleased to present our 2018-2019 school budget proposal that is student-focused and mindful of taxpayer’s needs,” said Superintendent Dr. Stanley Harper. “This budget allows us to provide vital programs and services for each of our students.”
