RONALD JAMES LAZORE

 

AKWESASNE - Ronald James Lazore, 65, of 56 Johnson Road, St. Regis, QC, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ronald was born January 10, 1953 in Cornwall, ON, son of the late Abraham and Margaret Young Lazore. He graduated from General Vanier Secondary School in Cornwall. He entered the Marine Corps in 1972 and served until his honorable discharge in 1976. On May 26, 1979 he married Mary V. White in Hogansburg, with George Bero officiating.

He worked and retired from the St. Regis Police Force and was a member of the Akwesasne Death Benefits Group. He enjoyed playing the guitar, boating, fishing and tending to his gardens. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his two children, Ronald Jr., and Tara Lazore of Racquette Point; and Abraham Lazore of St. Regis; and a chosen daughter, Destiny Lazore; four grandchildren, Tiara, Destiny, Abraham Jr., and Alliesha; and three brothers, William Lazore of St. Regis; Brian and Bridget Lazore of St. Regis; and Gerald Lazore of Syracuse.

Besides his parents Abraham and Margaret, Ronald was predeceased by two brothers, Abraham Lazore, Jr., and Roger W. Lazore; and an infant sister.

Friends may call at the Akwesasne Homemakers beginning Thursday at 6:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM.

Memorial donations may be made in Ronald's memory to the Akwesasne Cancer Support Group.
