Position Title: Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Managers for Mohawk Networks, LLC (the “Company”) is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of the Company’s Chief Executive Officer. Mohawk Networks currently provides bundled telecom services to the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation based upon a fiber backbone and wireless internet infrastructure. The Company is also in the process of building out wireless internet infrastructure in the areas surrounding the Reservation, as well as in Lewis County, NY pursuant to a New York State broadband grant. Mohawk Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Te Wà Tha Hón:ni Corporation, which is itself wholly owned by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe.

Job Summary:

The Chief Executive Officer serves as Chief Executive of Mohawk Networks, LLC and, in partnership with the Board, is responsible for the success of the Company. Together, the Board will assure the Company’s relevance to the community, the accomplishment of the Company’s mission and vision, and the accountability of the Company to its owner and customers.

The Board delegates responsibility for management and day-to-day operations to the CEO, and s/he has the authority to carry out these responsibilities, in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Board. The CEO provides direction and enabling to the Board as it carries out its governance functions.

It is expected that the CEO will provide oversight and management of the following key functional areas with respect to the Company: (i) Mission, policy and planning; (ii) Management and administration; (iii) Board Governance; (iv) Finance; (v) Marketing and Community relations; and (vi) Legal compliance.

This is a high-stress position based on full responsibility for the Company operations. Handles detailed, complex concepts and problems, balances multiple tasks simultaneously, and makes rapid decisions regarding administrative issues.


Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is required or a minimum of 15 years’ experience in a senior management position in the information technology sector. As chief executive officer, this individual demonstrates critical competencies in four broad categories: commitment to results, business savvy, leading change, and motivating.

Commitment to results: The CEO is a systems thinker who is customer focused and goal driven. This individual identifies relevant information and helps transform this information into individual and organizational knowledge and learning. The chief executive is action oriented and innovative. S/he translates broad goals into achievable steps. S/he anticipates and solves problems and takes advantage of opportunities, is a self-starter and team player.

Business experience: As the Company’s leader, this position requires an individual with knowledge of and experience in management and administration. The position requires demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of management.
