CHILD PROTECTION WORKER

(2) PERMANENT FULL TIME POSITIONS AKWESASNE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL SERVICES SALARY LEVEL: HS3 STEP 2/3- $47,410.08- $49,306.49

 


SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Intake & Investigations Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the protection of children and for providing support to children taken into care and for preparation of court documents, attendance and participation in court proceedings and is well versed and knowledgeable of both Ontario and Quebec legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSW preferred, BA in related field accepted.

• Minimum two (2) years work experience in social work required.

• Demonstrated high level skills in assessment and case planning and ability to provide ongoing intervention.

• High level casework skills including proven knowledge of crisis theory and ongoing treatment, as well as a clear conceptual framework for the practice of social work.
