The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne would like to inform the community that on Monday, May 9, 2016, maintenance began on the South Channel Bridge connecting Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island) to Massena, NY. This project is projected to last five weeks. During the day, there will be a single lane open and during the evening, all lanes will be open.

Plan your travels accordingly as this construction may cause some minor traffic delays. Always respect the traffic control operators on the bridge, as they are there to ensure your health and safety. Please know that the emergency protocol for our ambulances and police will be enforced throughout the duration of this maintenance.
