AMBE Schools Take Part in Have a Heart Day Initiative

Submitted by Hannah Leaf

As part of the Valentine's Day activities in AMBE schools this year, we incorporated the Have a Heart Day initiative. Have a Heart Day is a national event that brings together caring Canadians to ensure First Nations children living on reserve have the services they need to grow up safely at home, get a good education, be healthy, and be proud of who they are.

AMBE classes participated by sending Valentine's Day cards to the Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada. Classes decorated their own cards and signed their name in support of Have a Heart Day. AMBE sent a total of 180 cards and/or signatures!

AMBE received a letter in the mail this week from the Office of the Prime Minister thanking us for passing along the hearts!
