DARWIN NELSON WHITE

 

Darwin Nelson White was called home by Tsion kwa iah teson on Friday, July 24th, 2015 in Ottawa. Darwin was born in Akwesasne and lived in Ottawa for 30 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and famous trapper of muskrats. He was an ironworker with Local 440 and loved the brotherhood he had with the men that he worked with. Darwin loved to sit and visit with family and friends and was well known for his quick wit, wild tales, and sense of humor. He lived in Ottawa for 30 years but loved to get visitors from "the rez" and hear all the stories about what was going on back at home. He also loved to visit his wife's reserve in Cape Croaker and had many friends and family there as well.

He is survived by his companion of 30 years Cindy Ashkewe, son Isaac White, daughter in law Monica, and grandson Isaac Jr., and a daughter Melissa White. Two sisters: Jamie Porter and her husband Ted Porter, and Terry White. Nieces and Nephews: Natalie White, Joelle Porter, Sam Garrow Jr., Ross Garrow, Trish Garrow, Odie Garrow. He is also survived by many cousins, great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Darwin was predeceased by his father Morris White, his mother Hilda Bero, a number of aunts and uncles and what he said were far too many of his friends.

Darwin did not wish for any type of services following his passing and his family is respecting his final request.
