Fan Making Class

Paul "Toteks" Thomas, master fan maker and well-known traditional singer shared his talent and skills with several students to make traditional fans. The classes were held over a four week period at the Akwesasne Museum and were part of the Akwesasne Museum Traditional Arts series and sponsored in part by the NYS Council on the Arts. Using a variety of materials and feathers from eagles, ducks, partridges, turkeys, glass beads and commercially produced feathers to make a beautiful fan.
