Tsi Snaihne Early Years Science Fair

Stepping into the Tsi Snaihne gym was like stepping into the Artic, not because it was so cold, but because of all the busy students, teaching staff and parents taking part in the Tsi Snaihne Early Years Science Fair. This year the Early Years Science Fair theme was "The Artic" and it was held on February 4, 2015 from 9am to 11am. The Early Years Science Fair nurtures students' interest in science and encourages students to become actively involved. Between making igloos or making mittens, the students could choose to go ice fishing, sledding, or take part in the quiet activity of reading about the Artic, or take part in one of the many other fun-filled and educational activities.

The Tsi Snaihne Early Years program, which consists of Headstart, Pre K, and Kindergarten, planned their Science Fair around a theme. This year, appropriately and matching with our own freezing weather, they chose "The Artic". This theme was shared with parents and caretakers and they assisted their children on the "Artic" themed project together using food, recyclables, and other household items found in their home. The teachers and support staff presented the completed projects, as well as activities based on learning about the Artic. The Tsi Snaihne staff includes: Headstart; Shawna Cook and Vanessa David, K4; Terry McDonald and Debbie Ransom, K 5; Alida Aleene, and Leighann McDonald, and Principal Lynda Brown.
