PERMANENT FULL TIME IETHINISTEN:HA - AKWESASNE FAMILY WELLNESS PROGRAM

 


Salary Level: HS – 07 $37,582 -$40,649

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, organizing and conducting all in-shelter programs and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

University Degree in Social Field or Two year Social Service Worker or equivalent diploma with three years work experience working with women, men and children in crisis. Educational and experience in Mental Health and Addictions and /or a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities include developing, implementing and delivering general client service plans, individual client service plans and family service plans. Conducts intake assessments; ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to; Responds to the 24 hour crisis line in a calm and supportive manner and determine caller needs and responds accordingly. Provides referral assistance and information to clients in crisis; provides one to one and group counseling/education expertise to clients in need. Incumbent must adhere to the strict principles of confidentiality. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to use personal vehicle in course of employment. Knowledge and understanding of Akwesasne community values and traditions is desirable and the ability to speak and understand the Mohawk language considered an asset.
