On behalf of the Akwesasne Winter Carnival Committee we would like to thank Roger and the entire Mitchell Family for choosing the Carnival as the Recipients of the 7th Annual Hoss Mitchell Memorial Dance, The dance was well attended, the Committee had many gift baskets up for Auction, Door Prizes and 50/50 Draw.

We would also like to thank the following people and businesses who donated baskets for our Auction: Roger & Cathy Mitchell, Noonie Thomas & Family (Keegans Tobacco), Village Currency, Terry & Rosie Terrance, Winnie & Reginald Mitchell, Kingston Delormier, Josephine Lazore & Dayna Green, Kanatakon School, Community Health Nurses, Steve & Jeannine Lazore, Guzzy, Hilda King, Wayne & Mae Green, Jake & Brenda LaFrance, Jan Brown, Team REDD, Emmy Mitchell & Family, Romaine & Bonnie Mitchell, Betty & Abram Benedict, Elaine Thompson & Family, Maureen Benedict & Family, Julia Back-Skidders and the Snye Recreation Committee; in total we had 30 baskets. Special thanks to Spinners Pizzeria who donated two $50 Gift Certificates and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino & Resort who donated a 1 night stay, $25 Spa Gift Certificate and $25 Match play. Both prizes were used for Door Prizes and the Snye Recreation donated a Mini iPad which was won by Hilda King. Niawen kowa goes out to the Indian Time for their generous donation for this year’s Carnival. We invite everyone to join us at this year’s Carnival which is being held February 13th to 16th.
