Joanne Shenandoah Featured on Save the Wolves CD

Submitted by Doug George Kanentiio

Iroquois singer, composer and acoustic guitarist Joanne Shenandoah is among a group of Native American recording artists who are using their talents in support of gray wolves.

A 12-song CD titled "Wolf" is a response to a recent proposal by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remove Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves.

The recording is available as a digital download on http://www.NAMA-LIVE.com and will be released in physical format in January.

The CD took form after Native American Music Association President Ellen Bello visited the New York Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, home to 17 gray wolves and five red wolves.

The center is a private, nonprofit environmental education organization that supports wolf conservation and recovery.

For more information, visit http://www.nywolf.org or call 914-763-2373.

The CD compilation will benefit wolf conservation centers such as the one in New York.
