Tetewatskahon Green Food Box Partners with Senior Center

From L-R: Tetewatskahon Green Food Box coordinators Sweets Jacobs, Rachel George, Pamela Lazore and Senior Center Activity Coordinator Chanel Cook.

The Tetewatskahon Green Food Box program and the Hogansburg Senior Center are partnering up to make getting fresh produce to seniors much easier. Last Wednesday, a presentation was held to inform seniors of the new change. Instead of seniors making the trip to Kanonhawatsheriio to place their orders, they are now able to order their food box right at the Senior Center. Better yet, Senior Center staff will also pick up the produce from Kanatakon Rec. and bring it back to the center, so they can pick their food box up right at the Senior Center as well.

Green Food Box coordinators remind everyone that the deadline to order is the first Friday of every month, and pick up is the third Tuesday of every month. The cost is ten dollars and the program runs year round. Also, green box coordinators want everyone to know that anyone can order produce!
