On Monday, The Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department accepted delivery of a brand new fire fighting apparatus. Eastway Emergency Vehicles delivered the vehicle and Greg Rivers accepted the check from Mohawk Council of Akwesasne. The vehicle is set to replace an older truck, and once outfitted with radios, hoses, fittings and such, it will be ready to serve the community of Akwesasne.

Captain Ben Benedict said, “We want to thank former Chief Wesley Benedict for his endeavors, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne for their fantastic support, Norman Peters, there was a lot of hard work done by Norman on this much needed engine, Greg Rivers, for constant communication and putting together a really beautiful firefighting apparatus, and any others I may have missed that had input on our needs.”
