Fathers Day Luncheon at the Seniors Center

Good turnout for the Father’s Day Luncheon held at the St. Regis Mohawk Senior Center.

On Friday, June 15th a Father’s Day luncheon was held at the St. Regis Mohawk Senior Center. The meal that was provided consisted of filet mignon wrapped in bacon, veggies, baked potato, and dessert. Coffee, milk, water, and tea were also served. The cost of the luncheon was 10$ a plate, and nearly all the seats were taken. Sometime after everyone arrived door prizes were awarded, with Jeff Day, William Oakes, and Peter Back all winning a folding chair as their prize. Once the meals were brought out, everyone sang happy birthday to Grace Day who was there enjoying the luncheon. Grace Day was celebrating her 103rd birthday on Friday and was sung to by the entire room full of attendees. It was fun, and you could see the people there enjoyed it. Following lunch was horseshoes, as well as a longest drive competition, but that was shelved as many left before they could start. Of those who did stay, Peter Back, who is ranked third in the world in horseshoes, played with Grace Chubb, and Delores Stanfield.

William Oakes accepts his prize and smiles for the camera.
