The Akwesasne Mohawk Singers were in to visit us at Iakhihsohtha. The ladies joined us for lunch then sang Christmas carols. We sang along to most of the songs, but there was one number that we certainly did not know the words to: the Akwesasne version of the 12 Days of Christmas, we certainly got a kick out of it. The St. Regis Mohawk School Band paid a visit to Iakhihsohtha Lodge to bring us some Christmas tunes as well. Mr. J. Hahn leads the band that is made up of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. A few of the students played solos and trios.

We recognized some of the musicians, a few of our grandchildren, and friends’ children were in to visit with us. The band will have an encore performance in the Spring, possibly bringing along the Select Chorus. We truly enjoyed the visit. Niawen:kowa
