Michael W. Cole

 

Michael Wallace Cole, of Ocala, Florida, and formerly of Akwesasne, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Hospice of Marion County facility in Ocala, Fla, on Friday, August 5, 2011.

Michael Cole was born January 17, 1951 in Massena, NY, the son of Chester and Florence (White) Cole of McGee Road, Hogansburg, NY.

He attended the St. Regis Mohawk School, West Seneca High School, Buffalo, NY and Salmon River Central School, graduating in 1969.

He worked for Ryder Rental Trucks as a Head Mechanic; he was transferred to Texas then to Orlando, Fla. In the early 80’s he opened up his own business, Cole’s Truck Repair Garage in Tavarse, Fla. until M.S. lead him to early retirement and confining him to a wheelchair.

Michael married Kathleen Bushbinder formerly of Buffalo, NY in Leesburgh, Fla. He was predeceased by his parents, his father Chester in 1962 and his mother Florence in 1999.


Michael is survived by his wife Kathleen, a daughter Nicole, a son and daughter-in-law Jamie and Leesha Bushbinder, by 2 grandchildren: Brandon and Lilly, all of Ocala, Fla.; by a sister Mrs. Walter (Sharon) Wickard of Daytona Beach, Fla, one niece, Mrs. Dustin Michelle Ridner of Colorado and 2 great nephews: Devin and Dylan Ridner also of Colorado; by 2 aunts: Mrs. Charlotte Cole of Iakhihsohtha, Snye, Que., Mrs. Peggy Cole of Hogansburg, NY and an uncle Barney (Beatrice) Cole of Hogansburg, NY, and by one godson James “Jimmy” Martin and many cousins.

Following cremation, a memorial service for the late Michael Cole will be held at the Lady of Hope Church in Daytona Beach.
