Students at the St. Regis Mohawk School wore their cutest, comfiest, and most prized pajamas to school Tuesday as the Salmon River School District is among thousands across the country recognizing Red Ribbon Week. The anti-drug campaign - one of the most widespread of its kind – is a weeklong event with different themes for each day, with each one focused on raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and associated violence.

On Monday, students wore red to kick off Red Ribbon Week. Tuesday was Pajama Day and the motto was “Follow Your Dreams, Don’t Do Drugs.” Wednesday was Jersey Day, to remind students to “Stay in the Game, Be Drug Free,” and Thursday’s plans called for Crazy Hat Day to “Put a Cap on Drugs.”

Students enjoy having a special occasion to dress up and they proudly walked through their school’s hallways with Dora, Elmo, Transformers, Hello Kitty, Toy Story and Tinkerbell pajamas. Some even wore bathrobes and slippers.
