Chief Candidate - RONALD LAFRANCE - LaFrance has served as sub-chief for the past six years. He’s been involved in many community projects and events, attended chicken barbecues and pancake breakfasts, and has taken interest in a number of areas, helping whenever possible. He would like to work more with the elders and the youth of the community. He also believes it’s time to take a stand against the drugs that are in Akwesasne. “I believe I’ve gained valuable experience to lead this community into the future and beyond.”
The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe announced the official list of candidates who will appear on the ballots this Saturday for the chief and sub-chief positions, as well as for two traffic court judges and one chief judge position.
