Kana:takon Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer Teams
The Kana:takon Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer Team recently participated in the Kinsmen Soccer Tournament in Cornwall, hosted by St. Lawrence Intermediate School. The weather was windy but beautiful along the river. The girls played two long games in which everyone put forth a great effort. The boys played three games and improved with each game. They won their third game.
Everyone played well but the goalies on both teams played exceptionally well. Tenisha Caldwell and Dalton Roundpoint looked like professionals out there! Great work everyone. A special thanks to Dwayne Thomas who helped Tony Benedict coach, and did a wonderful job.
Girl’s Volleyball Team
The Kana:takon Girl’s Volleyball Team has really started to come together. Their positive team energy was noticeable at their game in Kana:takon last week. The girls won the final set of the game against Salmon River. Special thanks to the Salmon River coach, as well as to the supportive parents of both the Kana:takon and Salmon River teams who helped officiate. Great community spirit, everyone!
Kana:takon Cross-Country Team
The small but enthusiastic cross-country team from Kana:takon School had a meet at Grey’s Creek, this past Monday. This was their first meet and a great experience for all involved. The runners have been practicing by running 2.5 and 3 km through the village of St. Regis. If you see them run by give them a cheer and all the best to them.
