Following the arrest of four Cornwall, Ontario residents in Lake George, N.Y., for drug possession the town’s sheriff said he believed drugs had been transported through Akwesasne.

Sheriff Bud York said a patrol officer noticed a car heading down a dead-end road and decided to follow it. Upon further investigation, 125 pounds of marijuana were seized and three Canadians were subsequently arrested. Kendra Theoret, 22, Kayla Ann C. Snyder, 20 and Casey O’Byrne, 28 were each charged with first-degree criminal possession.
